A video from the weekend (GT-R content)
A Video of my cousin in his Clio 182 getting wasted by a Nissan GT-R at Santa Pod.
The standard Nissan ran a 11.9@112mph. Which is a little low (mph) my cousin completely fudged is run and did a 16.8@88mph I think. His best of the weekend was a 15.2@92mph. I managed to get in 10 runs compared to the single run I did in May (13.3@106.5mph but hit limiter) I equalled the 13.3 but at 104.5mph due to the lack of traction. (nearly nakered rears) and a headwind. I actually beat my 60ft signalling that a 13.0-13.1 is in the cards on a better day. (would have done it in May deffo if it hadnt rained) There was a 335i there quite obviously tuned. Saw a few runs of 13.4-5 which is what I was doing after the 13.3. I just got slower. I did hit 105.5mph but down on what I should have done 107-108. It was 25degrees and the car did feel slow. It wasn't a day to beat your best times for sure. Beat everything I raced which included a 400HP EVO 8 who fluffed his start which was handy as I made a good one and we sorta were neck and neck from 20mph to the line. I just pipped him for the win. Was surreal that he couldn't pull past. Mid run I had the edge then it was tight at the end. The Evo was running mid 12's with proper decent 4wd launches. Raced a 350HP Seat leon (new one like a k1) What did beat me was a tiny old shit box mini. So I'll have to go again with new rubber and hope its a better day. I just want that 13.0 stock before I do anything to her.

Yeah I agree mate, it is a capable car. I forgot to mention there was a tuned 135i there doing 13.5 also.

I can't wait to start tuning the golf. I've decided to keep it for 2 years now and not for the initial 1 year I had planned. Will probably get it re-mapped with a stage 1 and then 2 - also going to get the DSG box remapped (quickens shifts and removes the auto premature gear changes when slowing down in 'S' mode) - a Milltek turbo back exhaust - some lowering springs and, possibly, a K04/cooler upgrade. Should be good for 300+bhp.

What kind of boost must that mini have been running to beat you Carl!!
I had planned on being there but need to figure out why my car (mapped) has dropped from sub 12s 0-100 to 15/16s and slowing down with each run. No fault codes. |

Yep. Vacuum pipes all look good, if it were a pressure converter fault I would expect there to be a fault code.
Maybe a boost temperature or exhaust gas temperature sensor, maybe back pressure from a partially blocked DPF making ECU restrict power. I'd take it up to Prestige (BMW specialist) but until it shows fault codes they'd be guessing too. |

Mate. 11 secs to 16 secs is major? It must be driving like a crapbag? That's not just an slightly loose boost hose!!!

Straight from warmed up it's about 14s, and then gets slower on each subsequent run. It pull well from 2.5 to 4k revs approx but not too well above & below.

Hmmmm strange, lower end of the rev range could be the small turbo although I thought the large turbo kicked in at 1700rpm.
Not sure why it would get slower, even hear soak wouldn't affect it my seconds.

Pretty Cool vid eh mate, M3 really takes off in 2nd gear. The little Porsche did pretty well too with a 16.0@87mph
There was an E46 330d in the 17's LOL and a Clio 197 Sport in the 16's.

I miss the Pod.
This was me from a while back. I've changed bikes a few times since then too, but 11.2 secs on the r6 was my best, and I managed to beat a lot of higher powered bikes too |

Good video Mart, that R6 is quick.
You will have to go to the pod with the 330d. Is she mapped yet?

Yeah Kev, it had a small Alfa engine in it. Lovely little car for sure. There was a Speedster replica there too
