Exclamation Please friends tell me...is this a good deal?

3 yr lease
2007 BMW 328i sedan - montego/black
Demo car (3,300 miles on it)
$4,000 TOTAL out of pocket (tax, fees...etc.)
$390/mo for 12,000 miles a year
and they'll pay my last $450 payment on my mercedes lease

tells me they are discounting the car 2,000...has auto, power seats on both sides....but that's it. I think MSRP is 35,800.

Any thoughts? I was thinking of checking around at other dealers for demos?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ADVICE.

I never suggest putting money down on a lease, unless of course you are paying upfront taxes at drive off. What's your adjusted cap cost? Doesn't sound like a great deal there, but more details are needed. Sounds like a pretty base model car.

I think that's quite expensive considering you'll be pay for almost half the car. Remember that residual after 3 years is 62% for 12k/year so you should only be paying about 38%.

For reference please go here- http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3/328...=4&duration=36

That car only has auto and you're only allowed 10k/year and that's without any discount. Im sure you can do better than the offer you got.

i don't think that's a good deal on a sedan. you should be able to get that deal on a brand new one(no demo, with 0 miles) for the same or even better. On a coupe, thats a OK deal.

Pricing really matters where you are located. For example, in the midwest (especially in Wisconsin from what I have learned) you don't get the same type of deals as those in NY and CA. Even with the poor competition here in WI, I managed a $440/mo lease with $3k due at delivery without even negotiating (328 w/ auto, prem, cold weather, metallic). So if you look at your numbers, you are getting a worse deal on a car that has likely been abused. My friends that work at dealerships all say to stay clear of the demos. Think about how people test drive bmws, zero chance of a healthy break-in for sure. Dealers also take the demos out for a spin first and thoroughly abuse them when they arrive.

Call Chicago dealerships, you can get some great deals if you make them compete with eachother.
