Sluggish until 4500 rpms then instant pull?!?!?

09 E90 335i
running Procede v5 2.5

Here the story. i have been running the procede for a couple weeks now with no problems at all. Charge pipe blew the other day and brother removed procede and took car to the dealership but little did he know that the car was not under warranty (he blew it and tried taking care of it myself so i wouldnt find out).Regardless, i replaced it this weekend since im finally back. The charge pipe i purchased has a 1.5" bung to attach or snorkel or w.e that part is. I sealed it off and reinstalled the procede. Selected map 1 and went off. She ran like a charm. Later last night, the block off i used blew off due to cheap clamps. Used a T clamp today and have had no issues except for this lack of power.

Here is whats going on. Rolling from 2nd, floor it....build full boost...it holds....get to 4500 rpms and the car finally wakes the fuck up.

switched to MAP 0....same thing...go a little burp under 4500 rpms just once though

did a pedal reset JIC

Not throwing ANY CEL lights at all

anyone experience this? its something between yesterday and today.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Update: was just heading to a buddy's house. Was cruising at 30 and decided to step on it (pressed down switch at bottom of pedal and let the car downshift itself which I never do) and immediately the car began jerking back and forth so I let off and got on it again and fine....wtf

I had the same exact issue. Had the intake valve cleans and all hesitation/jerking gone. Check your valves to see if they need cleaning.

Sounds like you have boost leak or you didn't get your mass air flow sensor hooked backup. Engine lope when you start it and you get check engine light?

Going to double check the MAF sensor but there's no boost leak since its holding steadily. almost feels like fuel/ignition map reverts to stock whilst allowing higher boost until 4500. i mean the pull from before to after 4500 is almost like stepping on it all over.

Try and catch it during a log.

Omw to purchase serial cable now. It's strange how hard the pull is at 4500. It's not a gradual increase it's just an instant increase

It could be a bunch of things a log will help narrow down the search. As soon as you get the cable post some logs.

Garage List
Sounds like you still have a leak. Or perhaps a loose or cracked wastegate control (vacuum) line. Really needs a thorough inspection at this point.

A leak? Why would it be sluggish until 4500 and then kick in like vtech?

A leak would be normal power and then a huge drop after hitting higher boost levels.

Did you turn that code clearing function off? Maybe you're having timing issues and not seeing the codes?

I've had something that sounds just like that happen. Caught it in the logs and it was timing being pulled down to about zero degrees while boost was over target, and then the timing came back right when boost fell to target. So to me it looked like some kind of overboost thing. When I raised my target load high enough that I couldn't hit it, the problem seemed to go away.

Check your TPS is it opening during that stall?? I had an issue once when it stalls, timing is down to 0 and then boom at 4 k rpm it rips.

no not at all. IMO i think its a timing issue because everything seems steady and holding until exactly 4500 and then the car comes alive and it is a very very noticeable difference in power
