I have a 09 335i with 14k on it. Should i change the Sparkplugs out now or wait? If I wait what is a good mileage number to change. Main reason is i am installing some minor Mods ( JB4, DCI) and want to get the best results

If you're not getting any misfire fault codes, keep the plugs in. Honestly, wait until you start getting misfire codes to switch anything (plugs & ignition coils). BUT when you do replace, I recommend just replacing all 6 together

Replace them yourself once you start misfiring. About $110 when you purchase the socket tool as well.

is the thin walled socket needed when doing plugs on the 335i or can you get away with a regular socket?

You need the thin walled socket. I bought the magnetic one offered from BMS and it works great.

Kinda in the same boat as you, not as much miles though, bought car with 31k, was tuned at 32k, now at 34k, no misfires yet. Just riding the winter out, will swap come spring, already got plugs and tools sitting in the trunk along with my tq wrench if anything

If it really bothers you, go and pull one of the plugs and see how it looks. It should be fine though

It's a special 12 point, thin-walled socket. A regular thin-walled SP socket won't work. I got mine off amazon for $20.

Me too.
6 plugs + socket + shipping = $95.

I replaced mine after 24K miles and they were still pretty good (only 4K on tune).

The only reason I replaced them was because I got new injectors and coils, so mind as well complete the package.

My advice is to wait for another 14K miles.

Mine at 45K. I don't think you need to do it for a long time... also you must live REALLY close to work. I'm not jealous.

The recommendation with a tune is about 20-25K miles. However, since you do not have a tune yet you can probably get away with the BMW recommendation of 45K miles.
