Looking for a Valve Cover Gasket DIY
Does anyone have a DIY for replacing the Valve Cover Gasket? Mine is starting to leak and my shop wants about 1200 to do the job.
Done this on my 540, etc and I've got the Bentley's. It doesn't look that difficult- more time consuming. But a DIY from someone who has actually done this would be helpful. Thanks |

It's really all self explanatory the only thing you'd need to find is the torque specs but even that for the valve cover bolts just hand tighten them pretty snug and tight.. I. cant imagine them being over 8 ft lbs I changed an 09 328 wasn't bad took a good couple hours. Just everything you take off or move around put back in there right spots. 335 are known for the amount of hours to do the job. That's why it cost so much money.

Damn, $1200 is a rip-off. I'd shop around. I don't believe this is a very easy task, so good luck if you decide to do it on your own.
I had my valve cover gasket done for less than half of that. (Considerably less)

I just had this done a few days ago. I was quoted 1100$ from my local dealer. I was lucky because I had my brothers shop do it for a little over 200$. It took the guy around 5 hours to do it so if you want to DIY be careful and good luck.
