Le Mans Blue, best colour for shine, do i need a polisher?
Hi Guys,
Picking up my Le Mans Blue E92 next week and not sure to treat myself to a DA Polisher to get the ultimate shine from this colour, any recommendations? or is it just good old fashioned elbow grease and some good products to get that wet look mirror finish on Le Mans blue? i bet it will be a swine to keep clean, like black is? any personal experiences? |

Meguiars G220 V2 DA polisher seems to be the way forward. I will be investing in one I think to get the best from my Black Sapphire...

Yeah it does but the previous owner took it through a car wash so it has fine scratches in it that look hazy in the sun... Hence the polisher requirement. Called a detailer for a quote and they wanted £450 and two days. Polisher and kit is around £250 and I can do it when required then.

That was a quick wash this weekend to get all the snow and slush off of it! havent polished or waxed it for about 4-5 months! (done by hand too, but will be watching this thread as want a DA also!) |

I use a da occasionally on my Le Mans blue. Definitely worth having although it could melt your head if you tried to keep it perfect. Sometimes you think f**k it why do I bother but when it's gleaming it becomes clear.

LMB seems to look great even when filthy.
I didn't wash mine for a month over christmas and from a distance it still looked shiny. |

In my experience it is not the products that cause that, it's not using them correctly that does.

Keep an eye out on autobritedirect site/facebook page as they do tuition days, I myself shall be attending as I recently have acquired a DA and refuse to touch my LMB until I know what I'm doing.

Goto a scrappy, buy a bonnet or door and practice on that.

Get yourselves onto detailingworld.com. Theres masses of knowledge on there and loads of tutorials. A lot of it is by trial and error. I have products now that I'm comfortable with. I stick to what I know or else I'd be (and have!) spending loads on products.
Have a look on my thread here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=744853 |

+1 for detailing world. As for your pic they look like what's known as buffer trails which come about from using too much polish etc or not working it in enough as far as I know. Yes get onto detailing world and you will find out all you need to know plus there's a hot girl thread. Oh yes.
