Need to know good price to pay for this car....
hey guys, I need some quick help. I'm looking at a 2007 335i coupe, red, 6spd, sport with navi. Car is a demo car with 6700 miles on it. They want 49,975$ for it which is just insane. Thats 20$ below MSRP. I'm leasing the car with no trade in. I have some money to put down but I dont want to put down much more then 3000$.
Over the phone the guy blatantly said "you cant find these cars, the price is based on supply and demand" I would be happy with a 45,000 price. Or basically I want the car for 650$ a month, 15k a year, no more then 3500$ TOTAL out of pocket. Whatever that works out to be. 45k might be more then that based on the residual and money factor and if it is then mine, but I need to know those numbers so I walk in there with a fighting chance. If anyone can help me please do!!! Thanks! -Steve |

Sounds like a greasy salesman to me. True, you'd be hard pressed to find any new 07 e92's on any dealer's lot; they sell like hot cakes. However, some are willing to deal if you place an '08 order ---- if you're willing to wait for it. It'll def be >$20 off MSRP and 0 miles on it ---- you never know how those 6700 miles were driven. FWIW, when I test drove the e92, the CA was busy so he let me and fiancee take it for a spin and I sure put it to its limit. FYI, if you're leasing try avoid doing a cap cost reduction (down payment)...if the car were to get totaled, that $$ would be down the drain. Unless, if lower monthly payments mean that much to you.

Yea I dont plan on putting alot down, I understand the cap cost reduction aspect. 3000$-3500$ isnt really a big deal. Thats basically tax and fees which is fine with me.
but still what do you think is a good price to pay for this car |

Don't worry about the price...go in tell them you have 3000 to put out of pocket and want 15k / yr and a monthly payment of $650. They will back the numbers in to get you that monthly payment. Just check the residual (buyout) on the lease to make sure it looks right. Also get the tire wheel warrantee pkg. should be around 600 for 3 yrs.

After watching a dealer chip a tooth on a transmission while "sport driving"; i decided that I will never ever buy a "demo" car. I can only assume that every customer that wants to test drive or experience a BMW, they beat the he** out of a demo car to impress the potential buyer. No thanks, i can be patient and wait for the same car for the same price and comprehend the history. |

I think you should just do European Delivery- use the money that you would have spent here and go on a vacation. If you plan it right you could have the car just in time for Christmas.

The "demo" 335i they have for sale on the salesroom floor here in Austin is completely razzed out. The paint is full of scratches, bird dropping and the interior has scuffs all over the place.
But hey, it's $3,000 off MSRP and less than 10K miles! |

My CA tried to work a deal with me on taking the demo car... but knowing he had just let (encouraged) me to drive it hard, and knowing that everyone else probably did the same thing... not to mention the fact that it didn't look quite as new as the others on the lot... I politely declined and decided to place an order and wait.
Bottom line... unless you NEED the car right now, there's no reason not to wait a bit on a brand new '08 order. Especially given the fact that they don't seem to be discounting the demo car at all. $20 off MSRP for a demo with 6K+ miles is a horrible deal (for you)

i would never pay 20$ off msrp man, first of all
2nd of all I dont care if the car was beat on THAT much as i'm leasing it and its under warranty. At the same token I dont want something that looks used. I've found a few new cars some other places so i'm gonna check them out in the meantime |

Me too, I will never take a demo car, it's like a rented car, how many people drove that car? It's just don't worth the price..20$ difference!
