The XE200 is not a midbass driver. It can be USED as a midbass driver, but we use it all the time in woofer applications. It is more linear than the SWS and lacks the SWS "bump" around 80. It's more accurate than the SWS above 100.

If you get the SWS, I would get the Dotechs- or what has replaced them, the Virtus - because they do a better job of meeting them at the top end of the woofer's effective range.

If you've emailed us and are looking for more user experiences, sorry about that. Many of our clients don't post, so if you have emailed us, email again and let me know and I can forward it to some users who can share their experiences directly.
I decided use this post as a building block towards upgrading my speaker so I got a pair of SWS8xi and Morel Virtus components to help cover the mid bass ill be losing by using the SWS8s. My question is where should I set the low pass and high pass filters to get the best sound out of both of them?

I've never heard the new Morels, and I cannot vouch for how low they can play, but if it were me I'd not try to force any 4" speaker to play below 150Hz using a 24dB/oct slope. If you can only use 12dB/oct slopes, I'd stay a tad above 200Hz. The Earthquakes, OTOH, will sound quite unpleasant if you try tom play them much above 100Hz, so you've still got a hole you can't cover properly.

Now, you may be able to cross the Morels lower, but keep in mind that simple physics will prevent them from playing cleanly when the volume is turned up, and they may even get damaged if you ask them to do what they physically cannot do.

Did you ever figure out your stereo solution? If so, what did you choose and how did it go?
