How Bad of a Stretch Are 245/35/19's on a 10.5 rim?

Figured I'd ask here instead of 1addicts since alot more aggressive/stanced cars are here. Basically I'm running 265/30/19's on my 10.5 ADV 1's and rub. I want to get rid of the rubbing and I've already tried everything from fender rolling, negative camber and raising my car slightly. All of them helped but didn't completely get rid of the rubbing. So now I want to try running 245/35/19's but I'm afraid it might be to big of a stretch. Thoughts?

It's not that bad of a stretch I ran that on my 10" upfront go for it

Which tire didu use? How does it go from narrowest? nitto v'whatever, then Falken 452, hankook v12

heres the stretch ratio of the tire sizing you wanted. any ratio between 5.8-7ish will give you a nice 45 degree angle stretch for clearance. this formula works well for 18-19 diameter wheels. Basically if you look at your current 265.30 vs 245.35 and already knowing how your stretch looks with 265.30 on 10.5. now look at the ratio for the 245.35 ...its goona run taller with less stretch angle. personally i would prefer the 255.30 and go from there. but this would also depends on the stretch on the front for a matching look.

You can get some stiffer bumpstops or run a stiffer rate spring if tires alone didnt fix your rubbing issue.


245x.3 = 73.5/10.5= 7 ratio
255x.3 = 76.5/10.5= 7.2 ratio

265x.3 = 79.5/10.5 = 7.5 ratio
245x.35 = 85.75/10.5= 8.1 ratio

Yeah I believe its nitto, hankook and falken from biggest to smallest. I used and on my new set up again will be using Hankook V12

Basically front is perfectly fine with 215/35's. But rear with the 265/30's is where I rub. I really wanted to get used 245/35's and if I try to go 255/30 then there's almost no way to get used tires since basically only Yohokama makes em in that size.

I tried setting my KW V2's to full stiff and didn't do to much. I don't really want to go any stiffer since the ride is already pretty harsh at full stiff on KW V2's and 19" wheels.

I see the rub marks in the center of the wall and the distorted roll on the panel. yes the yoko is seemingly the only tire avail in that size. I would get a 255.30, max out the camber and jam 3 fk bumpstops in there. this will eliminate about 90% of your rubbing issue at that height. It looks like its on natural camber right now in the rears, bring it to -2.5-3. If you opt for 245.35 your rub would be worse as it will rub on the top edge of the side wall as your wheel will appear smaller and ride height will be higher. (speedo will be more off).

Hit up supreme powers for fk bumpstops with your 265.30. it a cheap solution 30 bucks if its all you need. camber and tires change if that dont work.

Adjusting the dampening on the rears will do nothing as a solution to the rubbing. The spring compression travel is the enemy, its all part of the aggressive look. its an art to minimize the rub. but everyone wants the best of both worlds with comfort/handling vs looks.

Thanks for all the advice, I appreciate it. It's hard to tell from the angle but its actually at about -2 camber already and I'm not sure if I can go any more on a stock rear suspension. I fear that if I do go any more it might be hitting the coilover but I guess I won't know for sure unless I get a proper alignment to test it.

I'll look into the fk bumpstops. They'll make the car ride alot more stiff though right? I mostly made the mistake of going way to aggressive on these rims but I got em for a good deal. They're 19x10.5 ET38 in the rear which isn't supposed to fit on a 1 series basically.

There should be plenty of room left on yours, im talkin at least 15mm. im about 1mm on mine at -3.2 on megan arms with koni shock. The rim will hit the frame/body before it hits the shock. Every -1 degree on 19 diameter will pull the rim in 12mm.



You wont even feel them i promise unless you have more than 4 on each side.

So 3 fk bumpstops on each side and get a proper alignment and ask them to attempt -2.5-3 and you think I'll get rid of the rubbing without having to change tires?

I think at your heigh youll be able to live with the minimal rubbing even with passengers. Just have the alignment shop max the eccentric bolt for camber and run 3 fk's. Might even be happy with just the fks alone. but i would start there, this way you can wear out those tires.
