I've heard that the facelifted version that came in september 2008 got a new rear axle with wider track.
In different sites on the net 24 mm (0,9 inches) is mentioned, and that will give a lowered ET by 12 mm on each side if one want to keep the same outer "rim-edge" point.
This have consequences when buying rims, but no supplier mention this "problem".
I will touch the outer limit way before the inner limit, and therefore must up to maybe ET 45 with 10,5x19 rears with 285mm tires.
(While still keeping the original ET34 in front with 8,5X19.)

Any experiences on this issue?

I thought answer to this is that rear track is 8mm/side wider, so rear track is 16mm wider than Pre-lci.

I have been looking also and if you find someone running a nice setup in a pre-lci, just add 8 to their offset.

+1 it is 8mm per side. That is why 9.5 et 35 look decent on LCi but look crappy on earlier cars.

The specs in Europe claimed 22mm wider rear track at the time (increased from 1513mm to 1535mm). However the wheel offset for standard 16" wheels changed from ET34 to ET31, so the change in the cars hub position accounts for 8mm per side.

It is the hub position I ask for here.
If the 8mm mentioned also count in changes in wheels it has no value as information...

The smallest alternative delivered from BMW on my car was 17", and they have as I mentioned above ET 34. (M-spec-model)

Hartge Classic has ET 40 on the 10x20" with 295mm tires, but the tire touches slightly a bit up inside when lowered. (On a friends 2010 320d with Hartge suspention)
This can possibly be avoided with a tiny increase in camber, but I don't want to touch the wheel-angles, and I also run all standard suspention.
The strange thing here is that Hartge don't mention the changes, and do not differ between before and after facelift as it is so on the limit on the outside.

The E91 probably has more space on the rear fenders than the E90 sedan, but I still can't imagine how you fit 295 rears with ET40. Looks like a bit of problem there. Hopefully Hartge can make some response.

A friend at work has a 2010 320d with the M-sportpack, and the wheels are mounted for the second year now.

And, yes, the E91 has more space than the E92, but I think about the same as the E90.
