it wouldn't have if you didn't come in to AA thread and said - your product stinks.

I've updated my xede to R6 when this version came out about 3 weeks ago. I personally like it better then previous, I've already described my impressions in another thread here. The power is distributed much better over all RPMs, it's more linear, no even minimal turbo lag. Feels very much like stock with lots more power. However, some people prefer that power boost or "push" in turbo cars.

Man... I just stated that the Mac book wasnt able to d/l the program and another war started.... Trying to debate on if I want to bite the bullet and get the parallel program for $80 bucks....

Yesterday, I tried updating through a friends HP lap top and it kept saying all the com ports are in use...... We went from com 1 all the way to 126 or whatever it was and it wouldnt recognize the Xede????

But when I plug in the USB cable to the laptop it recognizes theres something plugged in and tries to run some install thing?

Guess I need to find someone with another lap top and try it again within the week cause i'd like to drive up to nopi and see how the new version runs...

oh btw- just because the active guys dont live on e90post.com doesnt mean they arent working on things themselves... to me they seem to be more low key and dont brag as much... but thats just my opinion and the best way to explain it.

It would be nice to find if Active can find me an installer in the Greater Boston Area so that I can actually have my Xede installed instead of having it sit in my trunk as a dead weight.

I had the same problem as you with COM ports, and I gave a couple of tips in my thread about upgrading before. Anyway, did you start the ignition when connected the laptop over COM port? What that means - not only your key has to be in, but also press the START button without depressing break pedal, so just all the lights on dashboard go on, then your COM port will activate.
