RB turbo questions

I am seriously looking into getting RB turbos on my e92 as well as jb4 and meth if necessary, I am wondering if just putting the RB turbos on a 335i with jb4, catless dp's, fmic, and dci if just putting them on I would be able to run more boost reliably or if I would have to add meth injection to get any real power gains from them. also I live in california where gas here is shit only 91 octane, ive never used a meth setup before and just dont want it to be a hassle where i have to refill 2 gallons every 100 miles, also I can never get a deffinite answer on how much RB turbos are. is rob on the forum? any help would be greatly appreciated

With the jb4 and meth, the meth does not spray all the time. I can make a tank of meth last forever if I don't hit the fat hard. Also a lot of people use e85 gas mixture instead of meth. I was scared of using meth, but since I installed it, I love it

cool thanks only problem is I have no access to e85 anywhere near where I live so meth would probably be a better option how much can you raise the boost with meth and jb4 vs without meth

Honestly it is not "necessary" to run RB's w/JB4 on 91 octane. You will def feel noticable gains for sure but without octane a.k.a. E85/meth/E85 and 93 mixed. Your not taking anywhere near the advantage of what RB's are capable of. And really if your wanting to get RB's, go ahead and get everything you can out of them. And by the way RB's LOVE methanol. If you do a high quality methanol kit where all the lines, solenoids, nozzles, pump, ect are A1 quality, and someone that knows how to install it the right way (which its really not difficult to do) and I can almost guarantee you wont have any issues whatsoever. Methanol its actually really good for your motor not just for horsepower but keeping the intake and valves clean, it serves as a very good cooling agent, actually the best and it cost a couple bucks a gallon. And dude as long as you dont get a .5 gallon tank lol, your not going to be having to fill meth every 100 miles haha!! I would fill my 2.2 gallon tank and honestly I filled up maybe every two weeks, maybe longer actually depending on how fat my right foot is. haha. Honestly man all the horror stories you hear about methanol are probably from people that tried to install it themselves when they dont have a clue what they are doing or they tap a hole for the nozzle in the stock charge pipe which is pretty ghetto In my opinion lol.

So put it this way, your cooling your motor using Methanol, your going to gain ALOT of horsepower, it helps keep your valves clean, it does not do any damage whatsoever to your car, it actually keeps it heathy. The JB4 has the most amazing failsafe so if something isnt right it will not let the car spray the methanol.

Rob just had a group buy but i know its over and I think the full setup is 3400-3500 bucks. honestly they are so well perfected that it can handle anything you throw at it all day long. There is alot of us guys running RB's and I have had mine on for over 20K miles and they run like when I first got them installed.

Methanol raises boost by 3psi-4psi+ but its not all about raising boost. With RB's and meth the boost doesnt tapper near as fast as stock turbo setup. I hit 20psi and tapper to 18.5psi maybe 18psi. I'm telling you if you dont have E85 available, Methanol is your option. go ahead and take advantage of your new turbos and see exactly why everybody LOVES RB's
