JB4 G5

Hey guys, pretty new to this trying to get some veteran advice

08 335i with Bms DCI mod only.

I'm looking to get the jb4 g5 for that extra 80hp. Is it honestly just a plug and play or am I going to run into different replacements? Is it worth it?

Get it. It's easy to install and has great features. However Cobb is easier to install and is better overall.

JB4 pretty much holds most of the performance records and is a proven platform. The new G5 is pretty amazing as well.

At the end of the day each tune, done properly will yield similar results, but the major difference is with all the cool steering wheel control / features the JB4 brings to the table, which are not available on any flash.

Would there be any concerns picking up a second hand JB4 g5 system and DCI?

Just picked up my 07 335 and I'm addicted to the power potential that this setup will bring and in Calgary I see there are a couple used options on the market? I know the JB4 isn't VIN locked so that's great, and the DCIs can be cleaned so I'm thinking there is no real downside?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I've done a lot of research on the JB4 and can't find anything bad. Everyone who has one, likes it. I need one myself. Obviously you are running the car a little harder so wear and tear will be increased (especially on the turbo's).

With respect to the JB4's for sale in the Calgary area, be aware one is not the G5 version. The guy on kijiji selling his older version with DCI for $600 is a joke. Retail from Mike at N54 is cheaper for new!

Thanks for looking into things! The seller of the JB4+intakes led me to believe he has the newest set. That would have been bad.

Yeah, the seller tried to do the same with me and then turned to insulting me saying I had no idea what I was talking about. I sent him the link for the G5 upgrade and he went quiet.
