Valve cleaning / Sluggish response...
Hi guys,
I have a high mileage 335 e92 (70k miles) and I did the walnut blasting / valve cleaning job. I went to an independent guy who owned his own walnut blaster and has worked on a few bimmers before. The job was excellent, the throttle response has improved and my idle hesitation has disappeared. However, the MAP sensor got disconnected in the process and the check engine light came on. When this occurred, I noticed a lack in power (turbo didn't spool up). We reconnected the MAP sensor and no more error codes. But I do notice a bit of sluggishness still. Not sure if it's just in my mind. Anyone know of a way to diagnosis this? I tried resetting the transmission (I have a 6MT) but I am not sure I did it right, and the car still feels a bit a slow. No error codes yet, so may be its just in my mind? Anyways, take a look at the before and after photo of one of the valves. |

That's what I've read. Manuals aren't truly manuals.. throttle response is controlled electronically for example. Anyways, it didn't work so question answered.
Now let's going back to the original question/thread please.. Last edited by kenmasters; 07-22-2013 at 01:28 PM.. |

If you reset any codes/errors that were set from map being removed, then it should be fine, assuming everything is back together correctly. Dis you check to make sure the charge pipe is on completely and clip is in place?
