front bumper gash - repairable?

Hi all,

Have wanted to ask for advice on this for a while. Bought the car with this gash on the front bumper - not a huge bother, but EVERYONE points it out.

It's fairly deep, so my first thought was a new bumper would be necessary. But wasn't sure what's possible these days.

a new bumper won't be necessary. Take it to a good body shop and they should be able to fix it..you'll be looking at anywhere from $400 - $600 for the repair and have the entire bumper repainted...MAKE SURE THEY REMOVE THE BUMPER to do the repair and respray. My 328i had a hole on the rear bumper and a reputable body shop in my area did an amazing job on fixing it

Isn't it a pain how everyone else points out the things you already know on your car?

Should be an easy fix for a good body shop. Then get some 3M paint protection film on it afterwards.

Thanks for the advice. Next time I'm at the dealership, will ask them which body shop they use. I'm not averse to spending the cash. Good idea re: 3M film, Justin! Thanks again.

if you have the stock bumper could be a good excuse to upgrade to msport bumper or m3 rep

Just an update on this. Dropped in at the bodyshop that is affiliated with my local dealer. CDN$800, including taking care of the scraping (from previous owner) on the bottom of the bumper itself. They will remove to repair. Will take 3 or 4 days, which presents a problem as we're a two-car family and need both cars.

Ouch. For that amount I'd just get a new m-tech or m3 rep bumper.

That's pretty steep...a local shop here in Sarasota fix a hole I put in my rear bumper cover and repainted for $400 (they removed the bumper and no cheap fix either)
