N54 oil change

Hi,

E90 LCI N54 engine
I know people use different type of oils and brands and viscosity based on their experience, mechanics etc.
Tons of treads about oil changes but i find very difficult to get answers to three questions:

1. how many liters of oil do i need for this engine?
2. what is the bmw factory oil brand used?
3. What is the oil viscosity from the factory?

Thank you.

Cazy place - the web

So much mis-info -- don't trust what I say -- search for yourself.

M1 OW-40 is LL-01 -- good oil -- better to change often than to squawk over which oil is the absolute best. Cheaper than BMW OIL
.
Castrol is stamped on the oil cap -- GC 0W-30 is what I always believed was OEM Fill. This would be my choice but it cost more than Wally M1 0W-40.

I input 7qts and find it is the perfect fill quantity.
.
Most importantly -- in a 335 -- change every 5k and insert your ear plugs when other claim 10-15k is good / ok.

All of this information is available in the Vehicle Owen's Manual. The BMW P/N for the oil is on a placard on the radiator support, which you can find by opening the hood. BMW's website also has oil information.

Finally, many dealers offer oil change kits on line for a reasonable price.

And just for good measure, other than pornography, what oil to use and how long to use it in a BMW, is the most discussed thing on the internet.
