Smile change vin on an used cluster

Hi guys I am going to change vin on an used cluster, just want to confirm, do I have to put the cluster on the car first? because I don t have test bench so I can only do it with car. been told that higher milge cluster will sync with my car and the actual milage wil rise up? is that possible?

The only way I can do is install the cluster and program it with winkfp then code it with ncs. To use WinKfp. Comfort mode / Enter ZUSB / Update ZUSB / ENTER VIN / Programm. just worried about the milage of my car. can anyone confirm this? thanks.

As far as I know to change the milleage you need to have it out of car and replace eeprom or something to write the same milage as in old cluster.

To change VIN you can use Tool32 o/and WinKfp.

Thanks mate, I got all the stuff like r270 prog and m35080 prog and test clips, just dont want to remove the needles and write the eeprom chip. it's really hard to calibrate once done removal. So I must write milage first?

Thanks. for change vin in kombi I can either use tool32 or winkfp right?

Yes, you must write milage first.

Yes, Tool32 or Winkfp, that's correct.

If you mark the needle positions before removing them, you shouldn't have any issues with calibration. Just position them back to the original spot once you have finished.
