Ebc Brake Pads
Hey guys,
I've heard a lot about these EBC pads, so I decided to go out and grab a set for the front and rear of my e93. I decided to get the "red stuff" ebc setup and run them on a brand new set of zimmermann cross drill rotors... I'm about 150km deep with them, and I cannot tell you how loud they are squealing, it's unbelievable. I'd say its comparable to a ttc bus, probably worse to be honest. Has anyone dealt with EBC and experienced similar situations? |

There are lots of different car forums for those who had this Red stuff and complained about the loud squealing noise. In the end, no real solid solution and it does need proper bedding. |

I currently have EBC Green Stuff.
Stayed away from red stuff after numerous complaints about noise. EBC Green Stuff has the OEM bite, no noise, however there is dust. Bed-in procedure is crucial, also make sure your mechanic put a decent amount of squeal paste on the pads where they contact the caliper. FROM EBC SITE: "Redstuff however as a harder compound does take longer to fully bed in to achieve its highest levels of performance (can be up to 1500 miles/2500 Kms urban use) during which time the odd “Chirp” of brake noise may be heard when starting from cold in damp and cold conditions at walking pace speed. One press of the pedal to clear the rotor of any dampness and this disappears to leave EBC Redstuff a pad that inspires confidence in all cars. The motto is be patient give the pads a full chance to bed down." Last edited by Wolf 335; 09-20-2013 at 11:57 AM.. |

If you want a more detailed description of the whole bed in process. Look up stoptech brakes bed in process on google. It's the same process for all brakes. It even describes what you should do differently depending on the type of pads you have. |
