I had this issue on my previous (CPO) car. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it no charge. Inside the headliner is Velcro keeping the headliner attached to the roof above the cabin light. The adhesive on one of the Velcro pieces was failing, causing sag.

Just had headliner redone nicely with OEM matching material 100% on 2009 335i sedan.
Small upholstery shop located right on 441 near Toyota Dealer . Jose runs the show (older Dominican gentleman) Place was also open on Saturday 754.244.4017 i took the headliner to him, took him 2 days and i picked it up. $125 i think its amazing. 1213 N SR 441 Hollywood FL 33021 |

If you could take pics and post them up, I'm sure everyone (myself included) would appreciate it.

yes if this was my beloved 1994 e36, BUT in this case i wanted the correct fabric that would match the color and the texture of a $20k car that i'm still paying for (they don't sell it at Jo-Ann i checked two stores before i went to the interior place)
