Misfire
2008 335i no mods
I found out that cylinders 3 and 5 were misfiring on my car so I changed out the spark plugs and coils for both cylinders. Drove the car around for half a day and everything was running smoothly. I drove from OC to SD for school and everything was fine. I go to start my car today and the engine starts to shake as if it were misfiring but this time it is worse and there is a strong smell of gasoline coming from the car. SES light also came on again. Any suggestions on what the f is going on?? Should i even drive the car? |

my code reader is home in oc. the dealership is 15 miles away from me and I don't know if i'll cause damage to my engine if i drive the car. please advise e90post members. after some research i'm starting to think that it is my fuel injectors that are causing the problem.

I would be weary of driving on 4/6 cylinders... that's potentially up to a third of your fuel going unburnt (assuming the issue is ignition). The unburnt fuel could also work its way into your oil.
If it were me... unless it were just a block or two I'd be getting a tow. Do you have AAA or anything? |
