E93 Angel eye upgrade

Hello

I have a 2008 E93 and want to change the OEM to look like the newer blue/white of the facelift but the more I look into it the more I get confused.

Correct me if Im wrong but the new models have LCI so I would be unable to fit this into my car? does my E93 require a H8 bulb? if so what is the best one? I don't want a flat looking colour but the brightest possible.

if anyone has done this I would like to see the results and possible links to where to buy.

Andrew

The later brighter AE are a completely different technology & you will never get yours to look looks them. LED replacements will certainly look better & brighter than they do at the moment but I would look for something a bit more powerful than 20w

I started a thread about this a couple of weeks ago. I was also confused about which ones fit my car as mine is an LCI but with Halogens, not xenons.

Thread Here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=928270

Makkann00 advised that these are the best ones for mine, but I still haven't bought them yet, I'm waiting for someone else to take the plunge first!

If you have xenon headlights, then you need H8.

If you have halogen headlights, then you need what CapnCook posted.

Well CapnCook you've just found someone because I picked up a set about 6 months ago & they're ok provided you're not using the latest, very bright LEDs as a yardstick.

During bright sunlight you can see that they're lit, provided you look, & you're not expecting them to look like DRLs

During dull weather they look good & at night they're excellent. As far as I'm concerned they do about as much as can be expected given the technology of the Angel Eyes, unfortunately people have unreasonable expectation. If you want brighter, whiter & better looking AEs get a set of these but if you want facelift e93 style AEs buy a facelift e93 or new headlights with LED rings

Thanks,

I'd be interested in seeing some pics if you have any?

I'm not particularly fussed about them being ultra-bright, I mainly just want white light instead of yellow.

I bought some from eBay for my old X5 and they were fine light-wise but they still weren't white enough for my liking!

There are at least 2 different types depending on which car you have (excluding the le93 bright ones) I think, but don't quote me on this, the earlier cars had the H8, which have the LEDs on the side, or the LCI type with LEDs recessed into the end
