Compressor is about £20 IIRC, tyre slime (of whichever brand) is less than £10, Amazon or ebay.

a friend told me today he was in a 5 series doing 90 when there was a loud bang, the driver asked what it was my friend said the rear tyres burst, there was no reaction at from the car they carried on home at 50mph where they discovered the tyre was totally shot.

It's fun because it's a lot easier to kick the back end out around roundabouts etc, but makes me less confident pushing on, especially in the wet. |

See a pal in the gym tonight who is a tyre fitter, he said his takin RFT's of bmw's all the time, it works out cheaper to have aa cover get towed home and buy a normal tyre than it does to drive to a garage within 50 miles and pay full whack for a RFT. For me i barely go out of essex so im thinking of binning the RFT as my friend can get the equivalant non RFT brand new for £90. For me its a no brainer so when my tyres are up in a few months il be going down that route

How many blow outs have you had compared to just annoying punctures?
I've had two punctures last year or two since changing and for some reason my local garage is happy to repair my non rft for free. When I had rft they wouldn't even touch it citing safety and other concerns repairing rft. I make that either 50 quid or 200 quid saving depending on how you look at it. |

I'm in the same predicament guys, just about to get some new tyres for the rear and thinking of swapping to Non RFTs but worried about the whole having to get a space saver kit etc, I have the tyre weld stuff and a pump but surely I would still need to get a space saver for the non rfts or do people just risk it??
