Wheels or coilovers???
Im really itching to do something to my e92. I had been planning to get a set of bc coilovers but now thinking about new wheels instead as i need new tyres anyway.
Currently i have18" style 189 star alloys on SE suspension with an aero front lip. I would like to go for 19s but know it wont look right with the huge arch gap. So do i get the wheels and then lower it in future (and just put up with the gap) or lower it on standard wheels. And choice of wheels is whole other thread itself! So what do u guys think i should do first? |

or.....get the wheels first so you can see how much drop you can get away with.
Either way will work.

Dampers are yes, springs however are not.

I would get coilovers first.
I got wheels first but that was because I only had crappy 17"s. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=720934 |

I finally decided to get coilovers. Went for a set of BC (thanks Sumil) and hopefully will be delivered today and put on asap. Also getting new tyres and window trim and lower grilles done in gloss black at the same time.
So hopefully the car should come back looking a bit better |

You could, for sensible money, replace the springs with Eibach Pro (give a really nice drop on the SE - I can dig out some pics of my wifes e93 if you want) and still have money for new rims.
Springs are less than £200 and fitting is pretty straight forward if you're that way inclined. That's what I'd do anyway, unless you're wanting crazy low suspension - in which case coilovers are necessary. |
