Many factors involved here - mainly driving style, journey type, and engine torque. My 2nd set of rears will be changed around 50K and probably the original front set at the same time .
The rear pads get hammered by the traction control dealing with a re-mapped 330D and no LSD

My car is on 37k and still on original pads all round. I'm not hard on brakes to be honest but they seem to last well.

I changed mine for first time during previous summer @ just below 39k miles. it depends mainly on your driving and the journey of your travelling. I have a friend that drives like stupid with 120d and he changes pads every year (it's not so clever if you ask me) . another friend of mine owns from new a seat ibiza 100bhp, he owns it for 3 years now and has covered over 120k miles and still has not changed pads yet!! he drives in motorways all day long..

I have a daily 10 mile rural commute which includes some fast straights but also 14 junctions - not great for mpg or brakes
