Why do you say that? The deal doesn't sound bad to me at all. Do remember he is in TX too.

...Oh wait! Are you going to be one of those people that say, "Putting money down for cap costs is stupid!".....etc. etc. etc.

no. he could have just worked a better deal. Plus the dealer bumped his money factor from 200 to 220. That isnt cool at all.

Worked a better deal? He worked a deal he and the center mutually agreed was fair. What's wrong with that? But hey, there's always a better deal somewhere down the street. I don't know what your billable/hourly rate is, but for many buyers, the longer you try to grind out a deal, the more it costs them their precious time of either making money, spending it, or enjoying it. So if it's really worth that $5-10 per month on a $600 nut, you got alot of spare time on your hands. I think many folks make more than that in a month to cover such a grind.

How's that not cool? It's a 1/2 percentage point on a APR basis. Plus, .00220 is halfway between base and full mark up. Smells like, looks like, and walks like a fair compromise to me.

Houston has a pretty captive market with not much competition in terms of centers being owned by the same owners. Could the OP really, really shopped his brains out to cut another say, $1,000 more off? Probably. Maybe it wasn't worth the brain damage to him. That would've save the OP what- $30 more per month. It doesn't seem to break his budget, so let's let him enjoy his deal. Congrats, R1CrotchRocket! You work hard, play hard, and now you get to drive hard.

Another thing to note is that he's in Texas. Texas sucks in terms of leasing. Sorry, but it's true. I think he paid the sales tax upfront (which is applied to the sale value) or rolled it into the cap. Also, he's not paying sales tax on that payment.

Does the increased mileage change the money factor ? 12k vs 15k a yr ? Also when you say 950 up front, that is all that came out of you pocket ? 61% residual ? $651 is a hell of a deal for that MSRP. I call every all 5 dealerships in Houston and surrounding areas and they could not match this deal.

The increased mileage or residual for 12k doesn't change the money factor.

The thing that I think was overlooked is your sales tax. Not sure about the details of your deal, but I know sales tax was a big part of the equation. So it might be $950 upfront if you're in NY, SC, GA, etc, but TX and IL are totally different lease animals.

I think you got a decent shake. I've run leases before for clients in TX and the sales tax deal is ugly.

i paid 750 over invoice for the 335 sedan. Bank fee and tax in the payment of 651. Up front is plates 175 for 2 year reg and 125 doc fee and of corse $651 1st payment. I have a 63% residual 12k miles. i just dont see how people pay over 600 a month with no options... especially with leatherette and no navi.

That's great, but he got slapped with about $2,700 in sales tax on the sale price, has a higher mf than it's been in a long while, he's at the front end of the model year rather than the mid or back end, and it appears that Houston centers are getting all the cheese and not having to give them away like in NY where there's like 20 BMW centers in a 10 square mile radius compared to 4 centers in a 40 square mile radius.

Your 335i sedan deal sounds like, hmmm, were money factors .00140 back when you got yours?

For $600 a month, I think there's some people that are happy to get into a 335i no matter what the options... at least in Texas.

I never put any extra down if i dont have to. If i could roll the plates and doc fee into the lease i would do that do..but cant. I had previous leases transfered over to other people so it works out better when you dont pay anything up front. Also if car is stolen or totaled as well. Anyone else in the nyc area needs a bmw i can direct you to the salesmen

7200 in tax??? god dammmmmmm. My sales tax is around 2100 bucks. The mf i got is the current money factor of .00200. When the car comes in beg of november im expecting the rate to go even lower and get the car for even less. The best mf the sedan was at was beginning of the year for about 4 months it was .00150

BMW lease requires a $899.00 aquisition fee, or so I am told. Did you pay your $2,100 tax in the price of car, or just the percentage of use? Thanks, I do not trust my dealer....picking up car tomorrow....or next weekend...

Here is the what I was told. I ordered the car last week and left a deposit. The lease offer I stated above where the terms. However, I will not sign the lease paperwork until OCT 31st. My salesperson wanted me to wait until the last day of the month so they can honor the lease terms for up to 60 days and wanted to make sure I get the lease deal just in case my order gets delayed. Another reason they wanted to do it the last day of Oct was if the Nov lease rates are better they will not send it the paperwork I signed Oct 31 but give me the better November rates. I just have to go back and sign a Nov lease deal. I thought that was pretty nice gesture by the dealership. I will post all the details of lease when I sign paperwork. However after reading the posts from above, I did research and lease deals in TX are not as great as those in other states.

I'm in Texas and my purchase (Owner's Choice) was as follows:

$565/mo for 36 months, 15k Yr. $3000 down payment:

335i Sedan
Navi
Premium
Satelite Radio
Head Front Seats
Metallic paint

This is via European Delivery so the purchase price was about 7 -8% lower than US retail.
