I recently got my xd600/6 installed supposedly professionally but now there is a terrible constant hiss through all the speakers. It starts up as soon as an electrical signal is picked up by the amp and is always audible unless I turn my music up. Going through older threads about this I'm working on trying to figure out the source but I used the fader to try and isolate the sound but it is constant through out all speakers during this.

The reason I'm posting this is bc the installer is saying the only way to correct this is to install a remote wire and I'm not gonna have them cut up any OEM wires so that's not what I want to do. Just wondering if that's true bc I haven't seen that in any of the other threads. I will update with picture of the set up and settings soon. Also he said they turned the gain all the way down and it still hissed. And now the gong sound is insanely loud wondering if there are any solutions to that I read that turning the amp sensitivity down might fix that. Thanks all!

If your chimes are too loud your gain is too high. The hissing could be caused by your RCA cables being too close to your power cables. Check how they ran the wiring.

OEM remote wire is included in the harness... it is the relay output and the wire assignment is printed on the wire itself.

New XD600/6V2 have remote sensing however I suggest connecting the OEM remote just because it is there to be used.

I think I read somewhere that twisted pair RCAs have reduced hiss, as well as replacing the head unit.

There is a brand new service bulletin (March 2014) that addresses the issue of noisy head units

but if you have an aftermarket amp I don't think they will warranty the hissing noise

probably not, but if there is a known fix, i would be willing to pay for it to be coded out if possible

Use and ipod or mp3 player to drive the amp
if that source is not noisy most have found it to be
there head unit. Since its not amped that much with
the stock systems its less noticeable.

Being that I very clearly don't know anything about audio systems I just want someone to spell it out to me to make sure my set up is correct. I have checked the amp wiring with other images posted on here and it's exactly the same but the installer is basically saying its not possible to have the six channels used with the harness and put the underseats on their own channels. I now know the xd 600/6 internally creates the last two channels and the setting is on 4 channel input so if my wiring is the same as all the others on here am I good with the six channels being used properly?

I want to get that settled before digging more into the static sound in my speakers but its still really bad. I connected phone to the front and then rear speakers to play music to see if its go away and it was basically gone but there was definitely still a low sound. I feel like it still is probably the head unit and wondering how else to confirm that or what to do bc getting a new HU would suck. I'm gonna try twisted pair RCA's.

Simple to install and xd600/6 with a technic harness.
Its truly plug and play and the amp will run all channels
if its setup correct . So this guy is a Turkey or there is some
miscommunication. If he is a pro he should be able to do this
easy.
If there was noise before the install there will be more after
as the amp will amplify it.
