I'm betting the paperwork has something that looks like this at the bottom that says that the dealer can "unlock" it at his discretion??

Either find the other thing you read that "indicates otherwise" and re-read it, or get your dealer or financial institution to agree in writing that you're locked in.

In other words, you need to find and read what you signed. That's your contract; it's impossible for us to say definitively what that may be. I can tell you "non-definitively" that the promotional rate is likely based on the order date since the delivery date may be variable, and the ability of the dealer/financial institution to withdraw the rate is likely based on you not maintaining a certain level of creditworthiness and or discovery of fraud or misinformation on your application.

I had a similar question for my CA and he told me that once the credit app is approved, it's locked in, regardless. So it seems to have to do more with when you submit the app. As long as you get it in this month, and you're approved, it's a done deal. He took my info yesterday, submitted it this morning and called me with the good news.

Actually I asked the same question to my CA's manager and he said the rate is locked in for 60 days. I asked him what if my car takes longer 60 days to get here, and he said, "oh you'll have your car before then." So since I ordered on October 8th, I think I have until December 8th to purchase my car...

I am thinking about talking to my CA and having him re-approve me at the end of october to lock it in for 60 days...
