Chevron Techron Fuel System Concentrate DEAL!

http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/1197...system-cleaner

Good deal here... about 50% off. Just putting it out there for everyone. Same stuff BMW uses and sells.

Even the Senior Master Tech at my dealer recommends it and has used it in every BMW he has owned.

This. Does that stuff even do anything? How many of us have a 100k + car still on the road? Do modern day cars even need this? (Honest question, I really don't know.)

(Yes yes, I know you 100k guys are out there, but not the rule.)

Its industry wide excepted as the best "traditional" fuel system cleaner but as with all fuel system cleaners they do NOTHING for direct injection engines who's intake ports don't get touched by it and injectors are working at lose an eye pressure. Its also already in Chevron and a few other pump gases.

It does NOTHING to the intake valves, but it still WORKS by removing water traces from the tank, cleaning deposits from fuel lines and pumps, and cleaning up the injectors to restore proper spray pattern (yes, even cleans the finicky piezo ones on N54 that are so sensitive to crud). So I wouldn't say it does nothing...

It still cleans the injectors on the n54, and it cleans also the intake valves on the n52. It does work, so much that it cannot be mistaken for placebo.

If it didn't have at least some benefit, no matter how minor, I have a hard time thinking that a BMW Senior Master Tech would recommend it to customers and run it in all of his cars.

My indy back in PA before I moved to CA also used and recommended it as well.

If you do some reading, you will find MANY BMW owners/dealers/indys/etc all recommend using this even if you use "good" gasoline...

...maybe the only exception is if you use Shell-V power which supposedly has this mixed in already, or something similar.

For like $8-10 a bottle, there is really nothing bad that could happen from it, and it could only help to clean your engine out a little.

Having a DI engine is different than our non-turbo engines, but can benefit both engines.

12 oz or 20 oz?

I buy the 20's and use 1/2 bottle every 4 months or so.

First time using this, do you add this stuff to the gas tank before fueling? I heard its 1oz per gallon. Also, do you need to do an oil change before adding this stuff or can it be done anytime?

Well yes it does something just pointing out the benefits aren't as great as they are with port injection due to spraying post intake valves and the +100 bar of fuel pressure carbon deposits would have to withstand to foul up direct injection injectors.
