Modified car insurance, which company?
New to the UK, but not to modified cars.
What type of insurance company do you use for modified cars? Seems that here they ding you for changing a light bulb, air filter, tires, etc... Please help me out... |

Depends how modified it is. If there are a lot of performance changes, I'd say try Adrian Flux. However my car is just remapped, lowered and wheel change and I got a better quote with Admiral strangely.

Mate. Modified car insurers are a crock and aren't cheaper at all. Every car iv ever tried to insure with them is well over even normal insurers. Admiral with all mods declaired is the cheapest on all my cars iv owned.

It depends on how many modifications. Its worth a go to look it up. Alot of companies wont insure above a certain number of modifications. Admiral certainly werent cheaper insuring an import, with an engine conversion and a roll cage

Depending on where you live, your age, driving record insurance costs will vary wildly.
I've been with GreenLight for 2 years now, £700 fully comp, all mods covered. Admiral wanted nearly double, and most others like Directline etc don't even want to give me a quote due to the car been heavily modified. |

I went through gocompare the other week and Admiral came out best. Tried a few others but nothing cheaper. The good thing with the comparison sites is they don't ask details, remap, yes or no, standard alloy wheels, yes or no, all very easy

Adrian flux is the one for a car with lots of mods! I have unlimited mods cover and i got a great price but depends on lots of things reAlly. Where u live and points etc... If your only running a few mods then your regular insurers may cover you. My normal insurance previously covered me for up too 25% power gain with no extra charge! But would not insure me over that.
