Picked up a 2009 335D - what are the must do's
I traded in my 335i coupe and picked up a 2009 335d with 115K km (about 70K miles). I checked the service histories and there are no signs of carbon buildup related issues e.g. error codes or parts replaced like the EGR, fuel injectors, DPF, etc. The car came with an upgraded Wagner IC, VAC tune controller so I assume it has been driven hard in the past.
Is there things I should be doing other than oil changes to the car? List of things I should be looking out for? I've been reviewing all the posts here and I've found lots of great info on EGR/DPF deletion, etc. which I am interested in. Some questions I had still that if you had a quick answer for, that would be great. Thank you for all the help on this forum. - Will the D take the same oil recommended for its gas equivalent? I have a couple of jugs of Mobil 1 euro spec leftover -is there a way to clean your car internally? Carbon cleaning? Something equivalent to valve walnut blasting ? - Car didn't come with Rear or Front Parking distance control. Was wondering if anyone was successful with the euro retrofit kits (part #66200399633 and 66200399629) -anyone here online can offer affordable remote coding services to program the PDC sensors? EGR/DPF deletion? cheers, K Last edited by kenmasters; 05-06-2014 at 01:21 PM.. |

Thanks for the all the views
P.S. the car is black with sports, premium, nav, wagner ic, vac motorsport tune module, big brake kit. I also purchased an extended warranty after reading all the problems with the D. Last edited by kenmasters; 05-06-2014 at 12:48 PM.. |

Remote coding is generally not doable. The DDE (ECU) for our cars is heavily encrypted and needs to be sent in or physically present to be programmed. Welcome! |

For enabling the PDC sensors (with idrive support) does INPA work by simply adding some work orders? |

Congrats. I too own a 2009. Only an enthusiast would have put a Wagner IC on the car as well as a VAC module.
I wonder if they posted here. |

Front and rear control arm upgrades add to the handling improvement items.

I don't get any traction issues on a straight line and I have a set of PSS but with the RFTs and Conti DWs I did slip here and there for the traction control to activate. Did some hard canyon carving at Angeles Crest Highway last Sunday with some buddies and it only came on once or twice. I still consider myself a noob when it comes to driving so I didn't turn off DSC (one of my buddies called me a pussy ). Doesn't seem like I need an LSD unless I was going to hit the tracks.
