Differential Oil
Hi all,
I'm planning on replacing my differential fluids on my 06 330xi, and just wanted to make sure this is the right fluid from AutoZone. In the Bentley Manual it calls for SAF-XO, googling it says SYNTRAX LONG LIFE 75W-90 (previously known as SAF XO) and I found Castrol/Syntrax Limited Slip gear oil SAE 75W-90 32 oz. at AutoZone. Is this the correct one? And how much do I need? |

Just did this on my 328. I'd recommend Redline 75w90. You're not going to be able to suck it all out, but the capacity may exceed 1 qt slightly and you may need to buy two containers.

Sign up at AMSOIL site and get 25% off and order it. You will need a way to vac the old fluid out and pump the new fluid in. I think you will need about 40oz to be safe.

![]() *****************************=redline+application+guide Its off their main page IIRC, top right. As for capacity, that should be in one of your manuals. If its the same pumpkin as the 335d, its a bit over 1qt. I used a single qt on mine as the 335d has no drain plug, so you must slurp it out with a pump in the fill hole. 1qt was tough to get out in the first place. If they gave the X a drain plug consider yourself lucky. Grrr. - b |
