disgusted w. hassel dealership
I went in for appraisal on my X3 2012 28i w/ 38k purchase in 2011.
first appraisal was $21,000, i want $26000 according to NADA. car is fine all around flawless so is the interior! next day around noon i got a call , manager wants to give u extra $1000, making it $22,000 i said no. I want $26,000 . Around 5pm i got a call from sales rep best we can do is $25,000 so i said fine i will be there thursday to order 2015 msport x3. Yesterday I priced out the msport x3 2015 everything is set, manager left for the day so paperwork couldnt be done because he had to sign agreement of sale for $25,000. today i follow up and surprisingly manager made a mistake took back offer and made it $23000 |

Dealer is a sneaky little S*** but you should look up the black book value.
90% of trade ins are done by black book value. Unfortunately you have to pay for the service/or be apart of a bank which pays for the service. |

Sorry to hear that, why don't you try another dealership, from my experience working as a car salesman, if nothing was written in black and white, the manager always has a final say on the dollar amount, whether or not he agrees with you over the phone, they can always make up some BS excuse and turn it around. Just the way it is, sneaky, shady, dealer needs to make money, just take it somewhere and get another quote, don't bother. Good Luck

I just order 2015 x3 msport with $2500 off msrp. I couldnt be happier the whole transaction was smooth and explain all of new changes. Now the wait begins.
I use NADA to check current value of my X3. |

Nada isn't the standard that any dealership will use to appraise your vehicle. It's way overinflated and I say this as a consumer who wants to get as much from the dealership just like you do.

Trade in value is always bare minimum. You get ripped off terrible. Dealers are big businesses and in it to make as much money as possible. They want to resell your car and make a profit on it, therefore you will get less than what your car is really worth. Always better to sell privately.
That being said, dealers are rip offs in general. The stuff they try to get you for just in general is outrageous to say the least. |
