19 Tyre Sizes

Silly question but... On the front I have 225/35/19 runflats which, after taking them off to temporarily replace with winter wheels, it looks like are almost dead as they are quite worn on the inside edge.

On the rear are pretty new Michelin Pilot Super Sport 255/35/19. I understand the suggested size for the rear is actually 255/30/19 but I haven't had any rubbing issues. (These came fitted to the car when I bought it.)

Basically, I want to ditch the runflats, so am I best to get Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 225/35/19 for the front?

Yes because that is the correct tyre size for the front. You already know your running the wrong rear tyre so it's up to you whether you change those....

i'm surprised to hear 255/35 doesnt cause any issues, that's m3 tyre size... if you're running that on the rear 225/40 would match in size for the front... but i'm sure that will cause some rub issues...

Thanks - I'll just go for the standard tyre size on front then and then replace the rears with the correct size once they wear out! I wonder why the guy before me had the wrong size fitted! :/

U can run 235 35 upfront. Thats what most use including me. Rears are 265 30

why would by uprating to 35 profile cause any issue on a standard non lowered car? have you forgotten the oem gap we had in our cars?!? lol

I'm running 225/35 Vreds on the front and have NO rim protection as they are too narrow. Go for 235/35.

The 225 Bodgestone runflats are slightly stretched up front.

I've 265/30 Vreds on the rear and the rim protection works ok

Hi all!

Car is a E92 335D. It's the time to buy 4 new tyres for a styling 19" 230 wheels. I want to forget the RFT, so my choice will be Michelin Pilot Super Sport. But i cannot decide, which size the best for these wheels?! Now, it's running the factory recommend size, 225/35 & 255/30 R19. I have checked with tyre calculator, the 235/35 & 265/30 R19 size is good as well.(anyway, its a little bit cheaper, don't know why...) I don't know, the wide of the wheel(8 & 9) is enough for the wider size?! And wider tyre sometimes is better, but the higher sidewall usually reduces the stability.
Which size will be the best for the maximum performance?

In the end I got Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the front in 235/35.

I just got a set of 4 new PSS tyres, 235/35 and 275/30. In one word these tyres are awesome.

The 225 and 255 oem sizes doesn't provide enough rubber for the road IMO.
