oil catch can 330D LCI

Where would one insert an oil catch can on a 2009 330D LCI (N57 engine) , to reduce carbon/oil build up in inlet system (hoses / intercooler / inlet manifold / valves) ?
Ive had a look at the engine and on RealOEM but its not clear where one could put it.

I asked a similar thing and never got an answer.

I would be interested in trying to work this out. Have you got a link to the RealOEM diagram and we could maybe translate the M57 over.

I've little knowledge of BMW diesels, but I do have a catch tank on my DI petrol engine. You need to plumb the OCC in to the emission line that takes the crankcase fumes from the engine (and the EGR) to the intake side of the engine. So you trap the fumes and other gunk before it gets to the inlet manifold.

Yes I realise that . Ive used OCCs on VAG engines but I cant find the crank case vent to inlet hose/pipe on the N57. I think it might be hideen within the big plastic inlet manifold but Im not sure . Searching for crank case vent etc brings up nothing on REalOeM.

Many thanks. Never thought to look under sub headings "fuel preparation system/intake silencer/Hot-film air mass meter/clean air pipe"

In fact "clean air pipe" would have been the last thing Id have considered

I will investigate and see if an OCC can be inserted there.

Page 10 of the occ thread under the M57 section has some good shots of what the 335d guys have done.

I'm sure the thread will go onto a DIY but I haven't got that far yet.
