I think a few E9x M3 owners got a little upset with the fact that they were getting smoked by guys with just a "$500 tune"

Torque doesn't always drop off at 5252 RPM, that is just the point where the hp and torque lines cross in a dyno plot with specific scaling. A car can make more torque at 6k than 5252 if designed to do so, look at an S2k for example.

You guys should read the original post over on n54tech. The 427whp is on 19psi so the n54 on map 7 fbo with e85 is making roughly 450whp at 18.5psi. Both the M4 and 335i are tapering boost up top as the dyno and log show. The 480whp is on a thrown together stage 1 tune that is in the 21psi range also tapering down. You'll also read where I tried to say there would be some decent gains with downpipes etc.. Terry was pretty quick to crush my thoughts on how much more power was available. Basically my impression is the M4 is running closer to max boost already and might not have the same head room as with the n54. There's still hope as we all know Terry can work some pretty wicked magic!!!

Just curious.
Looks like all mods from now on will be piggyback.

A vendor on this forum. I don't want to start a debate. Search.

I know all about the retrofit from the vendor. The question was if the new M3 HPFP would work with the older E90. Who said anything about a debate?

Have you seen the afr on the m3 with tune??? It's so damn lean... That's probably the only way terry was able to hit 480. I don't know anyone n54 or n55 that runs as lean as he ran his m3. 15:1 I believe it was upto 5k |

I reckon even in factory trim it runs rather lean in that area to get better gas mileage during part throttle daily driving in that rpm range below 5k, as it runs to the top the A/F dives down to 11.0 which is as safe as any manufacturers want it to be. With that kind of A/F, timing is also low as witnessed on Terry's log posted on the other site.
Nothing too dramatic IMO... the damn motor runs a water to air intercooler now, a big step up from our regular air cooled units. Constant IAT's at all speeds....keeps the motor happy... |

Update from Terry. This car is proving to be quite the potent platform.

The car runs 19 PSI stock from the factory???
AND he's on Jalopnik now! "Well there ya have it. BMS has already tuned the M3 to the realm of 479rwhp/484ft-lbs. Not bad considering the official US release is Saturday. Color me impressed." http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/goo...ned-1592376544 PS LOL, so is Shiv now going to all of a sudden pop back up in the scene after abandoning piggy's here? .
