Disney buys Star Wars

http://www.montrealgazette.com/enter...544/story.html

In Disney Episode 4, Han won't shoot at all, he'll just sing to Greedo of why it is bad to be a Bounty Hunter

People bitched about Lucas when he had control. Now that he doesn't, people still bitch. Damned either way.

I think it is great, and the fans will benefit in the end as a result because we actually get new movies now, confirmed. Say whatever you want about the pre-quels, but I enjoyed watching them. They might not have been perfect or the best movies ever, but they were good enough and entertained me. Which is great.

Disney has the resources to take it forward, which is better than letting the franchise slow and die to terrible games, kiddie cartoons, and old fat guy nostalgia.

Only haters can blame him for selling for $4,000,000,00. PLUS Stock, which may have been the kicker in the whole deal.

The last 3 Star Wars (technically the first 3) were not very good at all in my opinion, and George Lucas had full control. I don't think Disney is going to mess this up any worse, and they have been on quite the role lately (The Avengers for example).

I don't want anymore movies
I want TV shows!
Clone Wars is GREAT. I'd like more of these, but taking place in the Old Republic era.

It can only be better than the last 3 movies by Lucas, right? Can't be any worse I suppose.

God I hope they reintroduce Jar Jar Binks back into the series.

Great! I think it'll be much better. I'd like to see a more adult-oriented reboot or continuation. Perhaps the original story of the Jedi vs sith

I don't know how well the crowd will react to a story as boring as The Force Wars.

I would much prefer a continuation of the current Old Republic.
The Emperor Vitiate is a much better villain than Palpatine ever was.

Or remake of the Story of Revan. oooh that'd be great.

Not familiar with those stories, but they don't have to just produce them; reboot the concept, like BattleStar Galactica or Batman.

Rule: don't make taxes, parlimentary procedure and bureauacracy main plot points, and focus on character development and plot-arc. It'd even be interesting to see another era completely...perhaps early lightsabers that were just a glowing edge on an actual physical blade....in the battles they could add steel-on-steel sounds over the lightsaber sounds.

I was five years old when Starwars came out. All the teens and older kids in the housing developement saw it first. It was all they could talk about.
My mom and dad went and saw it and when dad got home he said "Son, I am going to take you to a movie that you are not going to believe". I was so excited. Several days later it was all the adults talking about it.
When I finally saw it in the theater, I nearly pissed my pants in the first 5 minutes. That movie was so ahead of anything else a little kid like me could have imagined. No other movie has gave me the chills since. I knew even at age 5 that what I saw was something special at the time.

There is no need to reboot the concept.
There are so many different eras that have not been touched yet or barely touched.
physical swords do exist in the star wars universe.. they are called vibroblades and can parry lightsabers. The trandoshans use them a lot.

Pick up the game Knights of the Old Republic.
Fantastic game introducing one of the most epic Star Wars characters ever, Revan.
