Wiring puddle and entrance lights
My E90 hasn't got puddle- and entrance lights but I'm planning to install them.
I want to know how the wiring runs inside a front door. The puddle lights have a 2 connector plug inside the door but on which plug should this be connected? Pictures would be really helpful. |

If you don't have the lights currently, how do you know that the wiring harness inside the doors even HAS the wiring/connectors that you need to connect to?
It is not unusual for BMW to have specific wiring harnesses for specific options included @ factory. You would think it would be easier & less expensive for them to just install 'universal' harnesses that have connectors for all available options whether install or not, but they don't... For instance; the wiring harness included in door for car with Power Fold and/or Auto Dim mirrors is completely different than the harness for cars without either of those features. To retrofit the mirrors with more features you also need to get the specific harness (+ do some other underdash jumper wiring to control module)

Europe cars don't have anything pre-wired. I know that it only takes 2 wires to connect the puddle lights. I can buy a new door harness at the dealer which will be 4x $80 = $320 or make it myself and it will cost $10
