Anyone heard this noise from engine before?
I recently changed oil and filters is only thing I have done and that was yesterday. Today, I heard this noise.
http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2cfs...8#.VCjYO6ZHbCQ Checked oil level, it was on the low side but still in range. Does this affect it? Update: So I did more research, and maybe this has something to do with the oil weight? I was using Mobil 1 5W30 before, I think the regular version. This time, I switched to Mobil 1 Extended Performance version, 5W30. It doesn't say LL-01 on the bottle, but I thought all the Mobil 1 were...not sure if this is related though? Unless it says LL01 or ACEA A3/B4 spec, it is not the correct oil. Mobil 1 0W40 European formula is BMW LL01 and ACEA A3/B4 spec, specifically "high performance and extended drain interval" per ACEA. Other ACEA A1/A5 spec oils are for "fuel economy," which is most likely what you put in the engine. If you plan on running hard, I'd dump it and use the right stuff. Otherwise, meh. Just put the right stuff in next oil change, say 5k miles.
