I have the nav screen on the Bluetooth pairing page... It says "start search for Bluetooth devices with your phone", gives me a id number to search for. When I search for it on my phone I find nothing.

Any chance this thing got unplugged er something? Where can I find the module to check it?

While I'm at it.. If I pull this module out can I replace it with one that allows me to play music through Bluetooth as well?

No suggestions on your problem but FWIW the BMW Bluetooth system sucks -- at least it does in my 2008 E90.

It will connect on start on up after sitting in the garage overnight but, when I drive/park somewhere and restart the car, it won't connect again. So, I just don't bother using it. Others have gone to aftermarket Bluetooth devices w/much better results and, rather than try to hack/replace the Bluetooth module in your car, that's something you may want to consider.

Good luck!

Try searching for your car on your phone and sync that way. 1234 is the code to use.

what u guys talking about? Bluetooth system in our cars is great I think. 98% the issues are your phones. Just reboot your phone and should be good. I have never had any issues with mine over 8 yrs.

Good for you! I've not been so lucky.

FWIW, I had a 2006 Prius that had the same Bluetooth problems as my 2008 E90 does -- intermittent connections. However, my 2010 Prius did not have such problems; Toyota obviously "fixed" something in their Bluetooth system to make it work better. So, I think the problem is w/the the car and not my phone(s) which works/work fine w/all other Bluetooth systems.

BTW, if it's NOT a problem, why is there a 15 page Bluetooth retrofit thread here?

Bluetooth sticky at top of page

There is a bluetooth sticky at the top of the page in this forum.

Depending on the year of the car the modules that handle bluetooth
change from year to year . A retrofit is complicated in most cases.
Possible modules TCU ,mulf, mulf2, combox

phone has be on , bluetooth on and in search and visible to other devices in phone settings. Car bluetooth has to be in search mode.
And the car has to have the bluetooth option.

if you cannot get to the pairing menu and the phone is not displayed
on your option list one of the modules listed above may be on the way out. I have had mine disappear a number of times it usually comes back . Try making sure the TCU(or module above ) is powered and the wires are secure.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447

Located under the trunk floor and on the right as per document above.

I have a intermittant bluetooth connect problem with my Alpine Head
Unit in my other car. After doing everything I could with Alpine I found a Andriod App called Bluetooth Connect that will pair the phone with the head unit by pressing the on button on the phone.
