VIDEO, Several issues help diagnose
Ok car is an 07 bmw 335i sport package 6AT
1. Everytime I shift as you hear on the video there is a tick/clunk ect sound you can clearly hear it 2. Engine has some "lifter noise" I guess thats the best way to describe it 3. Also hear like a vacuum noise almost at the end you can hear it when im close to the oil filter housing? Let me know what you guys think Last edited by BigBoss; 11-03-2014 at 03:01 PM.. |

1) Possibly the diff? I get a little clunk when going into reverse/1st
2) The ticking sounds normal. The n54 DI injectors are loud. You do have a bit of wastegate rattle. You can hear it from the inside of the car and when you rev it. 3) Check the vac lines running behind the wastegate. They are a pretty common problem for leaks due to the high heat.

Do you have a diagram or can indicate which vac lines those are? Yeah and the ticking I guess its normal from what I heard on other n54's, wastegate rattle is really loud, the video does not really compensate for the sound of that, no fix other than changing out the turbos?

Other than WG rattle, I'm not sure if you have any issues.
If you ever do a valve body test on the transmission within INPA and the car off, the valve body makes a lot of noise. The ticking noise is your injectors firing. If something really let loose, it would be very metallic and distinct. The vacuum noise is not a vacuum noise. More than likely your belt on the alternator or your HPFP. I think every owner goes through this. If you don't have a code, more than likely it's not an issue. Turbos on the other hand, those I would take to the dealer and see if you can get them replaced. |

Here is a better pic of where lines #5 and #6 are under the engine cover. There a few threads about replacing the vaccum lines. You want to use 3.5mm hose for replacement and order about 14'. Some say 12' is enough but it's better to have too much than too little. Silicon hoses hold up to the heat better and here are few options: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-335...e/Vacuum_Hose/ http://www.verociousmotorsports.com/...Cured+Silicone Last edited by BoostedE90; 11-04-2014 at 08:49 AM.. |

I have 6 codes
2f0d 29f4 29f5 2c7f 2c6a 0000 I actually was thinking about the transmission mounts, are you auto or manual? because im auto? Also the vacuum leak I think it was those vacuum lines you guys mentioned in the picture above, replace with 2.78mm silicone hose, very tight fit but seems like no more vacuum noise from that part of the engine Just one thing though, after I replaced those two lines, I get a cleaner acceleration and throttle but seems somewhat hesitant, like I may have a second leak somewhere near the chargpipe as I hear the same noise as I heard by these lines?? Im thinking since I fixed one leak, the other leak got more prominent? weird to explain but that is what happened lol |

The ticking is normal in the engine.
This hissing is probably a vac leak. Keep the tank 1/4 Full at all times, that is best practice. Did you replace all the vac lines yet? In regards to clunk, I was thinking exhaust or motor mounts. Not sure, you need to get the car on a lift as that is just a physical inspection which will likely lead to the answer. |

2f0d 29f4 29f5 2c7f 2c6a 0000 just replaced the vacuum lines with the correct 4.0mm lines, car seems to be running better, now have to inspect the mounts |
