X-pipe H-pipe
I have recently put VRSF 3 inch DPs on my 335i E92. Already had muffler delete so its pretty loud and i love it lol. The only thing i know is that turbos don't really like back pressure built in the exhaust so I was told its good but I wanted to make it 3 inches all the way out.
My question is will the 3 inches all the way out make a difference in the sound? Also I might as well make some kind of H PIPE or X PIPE. Will that help with the overall performance and sound? Thanks in advance!!! |

Diameter will definitely make a difference in sound. I have the hpf exhaust (basically 3.5" straight pipe) my buddy has his oem exhaust straight piped (2.5") mines definitely deeper and his is more raspy. Hope that helps

HPF is a single though isn't it? That's going to sound different than the OEM since it merges the 2 banks.
An X pipe will change the sound some as it merges the 2 exhaust flows as well. It does sound different than an H-pipe. But going to a full 3" all the way back isn't going to do much with stock turbos. The OEM exhaust flows fine, the down pipes are a restriction, but no the exhaust itself. |

Thanks whiteout. Thats what I'm going to do. 3inch all the way back.
Shadow. Im just wanting to open it up. I thought the X pipe would open it up and give it a lil more power. |
