330d Fuel Filter

Has anyone replaced the fuel filter on a 330d? If so can you provide any advice on location, ease of job, cost of filter etc?

Thanks

Tony

I bought an OEM part via Ebay for about £20 You need to jack up the passenger side of the car and remove a cover under the passenger seat area. The fuel filter is in there and is easy enuf changed.

OK thanks.

I've looked on realoem and located the part number which is 13327793672

Seems like this is a good deal for OEM fuel filter on ebay (AJS Autoparts UK). Selling OEM filter at £12.99 plus £4.50 P&P

Yep I have bought loads of stuff from this guy on Ebay. It has always been near half price and definitely genuine parts. Go for it!!

Isn't the 330D fuel filter up in the engine bay? I'll have to look for mine, sure I saw it under the engine cover.

It is on the left hand side of the transmission underneath the car - I'm doing mine this weekend.

45,000 Mile service.

PS. Dave your excellent write up on the air filter is spot on, I am now armed with your info and the Haynes Manual.

I think I may compliment your air filter change with the oil filter one as they seem to be done at the same time.

No, I was meaning the fuel filter, I'm sure I saw mine in the engine bay! Bit of a weird one if it is underneath the car!

The general view from what I have read is that the fuel filter on the 330d is under a flap under the front passenger side of the vehicle. It would be good if a pic of the location was available.

It would also be good if Neversay die could report back on this job e.g. any special precautions recommended due to volume of fuel leaked during process etc.

I still haven't done mine but plan to do when the next oil change is due in a few weeks.

100% sure it is under the car, the fuel filter is connected to the pre heater which is also under the car.

Thanks for the guide - very helpful.

It may be that you have no choice now as you have removed the old filter but £40 seems steep for a new OEM one. As per my earlier post I bought one of these for !2.99 plus P&P - part number 13 32 7 793 672

Realoem quotes $48 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...15&hg=13&fg=10

Recently available even cheaper at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-DIESEL-FUE...-/170450677460

Good luck

Regards

Tony

Yeah bugger, I saw these on ebay but could not wait on the lead time to get to me. A quick drive to Scotthall today will be better for me in this situation!

Next time I will get one from ebay!

Yes (I'm still around). You need to remove the passenger side underbody protection at the rear of the main engine underbody protection. This is based on advice and pics I have seen on this and other forums.
