16 x 7J confirmation

Hi guys,

Since I've bough used car have tires 205/55/16. Now is time to change tires and I am thinking about 225/50/16. Only one doubt I have is about rim width. I've checked and rim is 7J (part number 6765762).

First result I've found online is
http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html

I guess he don't have idea what is talking about, according to this calculation :
225 / 25.4 * 0.7 = 6.2 : 6J for 225 ?

Better news for me :
http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/ty...ize-calculator
this page say for 225/50/60 optimal is 7J

But ... same site another page :
http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/ty...dth-calculator
say that for 7J optimal tire is 205 (215 is not an option because of outer diameter combinations)

Well, basically my question is :
for optimal braking, stability and traction (in this order) for mine rim what is better ?
225/50/16 or
205/55/16 ?

Also, if someone of you have some of following tires would be usefull information :
In my choice UTQG nnn "AA" and "A" were imperative but durability and price is important as well ... so, please comment if someone have some very good or ANY bad expirience with following :

Continental ExtremeContact DW

As per user review this is very good tire, wondering why this is "A" and not "AA" traction grade ?
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport

If you look at the specs for the tire you are looking at buying it will give you optimal wheel widths for the size you are considering. It will say something like:

Tire size Wheel width (recommended)
235 35 19 19x6.5 (19x7) 19x7.5

I just used random numbers here, so don't take these numbers at face value. You will also see all other specs on the tire in the chart.

heh ... when you check many site and many recommendation you will realize tha most of web site are rubish.

However, after lots of site checked finally realized that 225/50/16 are actually optimal for my rim, some sites show weird things and I just didn't found before in specifications page on tirerack that rim is shown.

for 225/50/16 measured rim is 7, allowed range 6-8

rim width doubt is cleared, now just need to choose brand and model
