Need help, very little boost
2010 335i AT, FBO with Open Flash Tuner on stage 1 bin. (I tried stage 2 also with no difference). Normal boost would be 17psi+ and currently it's erratically going between 1 and 4 at the max even at WOT. No codes are popping up either. I assumed the charge pipe blew off, diverted valves popped off or vacuum lines came off of them,,, but none of that applied. Anyone have any ideas or know how I can figure it out?
I'm hoping to go to the track for T&T tomorrow night,,,, but not if I can't make boost. Thank you

i just checked the vacuum lines and they all seem fine, i pulled them off from several places and could hear/feel the suction. i was hoping there would be a split vacuum line behind the oil filter , but they were fine.

Have you been in a situation where you had enough time to go wide open throttle for at least 3-4 seconds? That would be the only way to trigger the underboost codes.
Any other pertinent information that can lead up to this erratic behavior? Have you changed anything recently, heard any abnormal noises? Hows your idle? It looks like you are running Procede stacked with OFT? |

Yes, procede on Map "0" with the OFT. no recent changes other than i had just downloaded the stage 2 bin,,, but i'm betting i had the problem prior to that and just didn't realize it (i haven't used the "boost" guage for a while). i haven't had a stretch of road to do a full throttle for several seconds yet (had tire out of balance). hopefully i can do it tomorrow..
right now, i'm guessing that either the boost solenoid or the line going to the wastegate actuator, or actuators themselves.... are the issue. but i'm just guessing...

doing 4-5 second wide open, yeilds same erratic results... from 0 to 4psi max and it fluctuates... so it doesn't just hold 4psi solid... it goes to 4, then to 1 then to 3 then to 4... (actual numbers may vary slightly.. as i'm watching the Open Flash tablet and/or the gas gauge as the boost guage).... but it's definitely missing the 18psi that it previously had.
and through doing several WOT's,,,, still no SES light or code... weird does anyone know the symptoms of the boost solenoid going bad? i'm thinking (and hoping at this point) that may be the issue...

see new thread- it appears it's the OFT showing the wrong boost, not the car. log is attached to new thread (hopefully).

Have you or someone modified the maps in some way possibly? That could be one of the reasons. Other than that a boost leak would have to be massive to have that happening and wouldn't be hard to spot. You may want to grab a pair of boost solenoids from someone if its neither of the issues above and see if the issue goes away.
