I Need Help!!! Car Making Noise

So early this winter my car serpentine belt started to squeak very loudly on my 07 335i. I just reached 80k so what the heck I decided to change the belt, idler tensioners and other pulleys and indeed the sound went away....for 3 weeks. I do have a oil filter and cooler housing leak so Im guessing thats causing the belt to squeak. I read online that you can clean the belt and pulleys with carburetor cleaner to dry up the oil and debris so I tried that today but it seemed to make my situation worse!! I heard someone mention that a water pump bearing can cause this...thats my next step I guess. Can anyone shed some light on this please

I had a noise that would instantly go away after pouring a little water on the belt while the car was running. Took the two pulleys, tensioner, and belt off and cleaned everything up with a wet paper towel then dry. Sound is now gone.

Your water pump is not driven off the belt so it will not cause a belt noise.

Im think this is what has to be done because I took the easy route cleaning and just sprayed each idler and the belt while it was still on and wiped the belt when I turned on the car.

If cleaning doesn't work, replace it. I tried the Dayco kit from RockAuto and it made a different type of noise :/ Luckily a cleaning of my old parts fixed my noise issue. I'll prob go genuine if I have to replace these parts in the future.

its your average repetitive serpentine belt squeak. I came to the conclusion that my belt is just dirty from the oil leak.
