Same here. Pothole damaged front rim, tire, strut, and both xenon headlights. I was in the middle lane on the Cross Bronx on the Bronx side 2 exits before the GWB entrance.

Fk these potholes. I've hit 4 in 3 months. Sadly they couldn't be seen or avoided in the snow. All resulted in flats. Luckily Continental replaced tires each time for free and my Style 197s kept up with no bends or cracks.
Now I have mini heart attacks when i see darkspots on the road.

did anyone of you try to put a claim against the state for the damages? (assuming that the pot hole was on a state road and not a city owned road)

I'm still waiting for someone to contact me from Dept of roads in NYC. A pothole cost my insurance company a lot of money. It's been 5 weeks and no phone call. NYC for you.

Oh man........pothole season is going to be epic this year.
Practice up on those reflexes ladies and gents......your rims, suspension components and body panels are relying on you to keep them safe. |

I bought my IS last August and haven't driven in nyc yet. I live right across the lincoln tunnel. But recently switched to non rft's so I was planning on taking the plunge but now this thread is scaring me. But the roads in jersey are equally fucked up in some areas. I skipped the tire wheel protection from the dealer so I drive like a granny in most areas in not familiar with. I'm on 19's too.
