Help me pick subs

I'm getting my E92 soon and wanting to add some bass to the mix. I'll be keeping the stock HiFi system and just adding in a sub and amp. I plan on installing a single 12" in the cabin/backseat area and think a shallow-mount sub would be my best bet to try and stash the box easiest.

There are 2 routes to go. Either the Pioneer option (TS-SW3002S4 sub and slim enclosure for $180), or the JL Audio route (12TW3 sub and slim enclosure for $340).

Assuming the amp is the same, is the JL going to give me much better of a sound to make it worth nearly double the price?

Now for help with the amp, a JL JX series seems like a good price point and quality but I'm open to suggestions. The Pioneer 12" is 4ohms with 400W nominal (would pair with a JL JX360/2 to give 360W bridged), whereas the JL would be 2ohms with 400W nominal (paired with a JX500/1 to give 500W).

Is giving 500W to a 400W JL sub going to be harmful? Or would I be better off saving some money and giving the Pioneer sub 360W?

I could save even more money going with a 10" sub, but I don't want to have buyer's remorse with not being able to extend to the lower freqs. Would a 12" in the backseat be overkill though?

No clue, I just bought a coupe but don't have it in my possession yet. But I imagine I can cram this somewhere back there http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130DSW3....html?tp=61651

I've heard about how well insulated the trunk is so that's what made me think of an in-cabin solution. I'm thinking sitting it on the back drivers seat downfiring like the box is made to do, maybe add a piece of black painted plywood so the woofer is firing down into something harder than a seat. Ideally I'd like to have it downfiring in the rear footwell area, or as a least resort have the box standing up the tall way against the back of the driver's seat, with the cone either facing forward or back, no clue yet.

For my needs the back seats are useless for human transportation but I still like throwing my junk in the back, so having that box downfiring sitting on a back seat doesn't take up any room at all and the cone would be protected from anything I throw back there.

Why would you want to buy such a nice car and throw a pile of crap in the back seat when there are several trunk mount options proven to be at the very least adequate?

Also, http://www.jlaudio.com/cs112lg-tw3-c...-systems-93305

I have to imagine that can be wedged behind the drivers seat somehow too. I have black interior and tinted windows so either of those solutions will be inconspicuous, despite being a little slap dash.

I want as much of my trunk space left available as is, and from what I've read, I'll need some real heavy hitters and power to compensate for the lack of air travel between the trunk and cabin.

Aside from the fact that you actually Want it in your cabin, you want to install a sub right behind the sub that is already in there ?!?

Never mind, found zenclosure.com. This looks promising.

Since I won't actually have my coupe for a few more days, do all cars have this ski cutout? Can someone take a pic of the opening? Would this be in a VIN decode? Thanks all for bearing with a newb.

Edit: Looks like my car is the hot climate version so no ski pass through?

Also found http://www.bavsound.com/Subwoofer-Sy...hats-Included/

Looks like all the non-ghetto rigged options are right in front of me.
