rev3 has extra channels for meth, NLS etc thats it.
Also you got USB port instead of serial.

Rev3 also has on-board memory (which we haven't done anything with yet). As well as dedicated output for meth pump, 3.5bar MAP and aux fuel pump (hint hint).

So, if he is not intended to run with methanol. Rev 2.5 is more than enough?

This is how i explain it for most customers...

There are 3 main differences between the REV2.5 and REV3. The first is that the REV3 has a native usb port on the unit, a usb cable is also included with the unit. This makes connecting to the Vishnu User Tuning Interface easier than ever. The second advantage of the REV3 is that it has an additional dedicated input/output channel. This means that you can run the speed delimiter with a PWM methanol kit. With a REV2.5 you would have to sacrifice your speed delim to run methanol. The third advantage is the 2step launch control/No-lift Shift. 2step launch control builds boost on the starting line and the No-lift shift allows the driver to keep the throttle depressed while ascending through the gears. This optional harness upgrade is exclusive to those with manual transmissions.

Just to clarify, can you confirm that additional hardware needs to be purchased to enable the 2step/NLS feature on the Rev3?

Yes. Just a basic relay and a couple of wires.

Thank you Shiv! Also, just a quick question. I upgraded to Rev3 and noticed that the casing looks nothing like the Rev2 casing. Is this the case only for those who have upgraded?

Nope... we redesigned the case a while back. So all the new Rev3s look the same as what you have

This is what Shiv said in a older post, hopefully it can shed some light on the issue:
Quote:
With this update, a Rev2.5 is (in terms of engine control) IDENTICAL to a Rev3. The only relevant differences is the absence of the extra i/o and native USB. Something that I suspect most people can live without.

The advantage of running a Rev3 (over a Rev2.5) is most profound for those running non-sport (130mph limit) 6MTs running PWM meth since you can retain your speed delimit AND run PWM methanol AND take advantage of the 2-step limit and flat-foot shift.

The advantage of running a Rev.3 (over a Rev2.5) is least profound for those running 6AT without PWM meth since you can delimit speed (if desired) AND 2-step/flat-foot shift isn't feasible.

Cheers
Shiv
