In my case the 800# had a 2-day lag. On 11/9 morning it still said "waiting at the port", but my CA told me the boat set sail on 11/7, so there's still hope that yours left 2 days ago...

Mine was at port on 11/08 but it STILL is sitting there!! I called again today and my rep said its still at port...not on a vessel. I'm getting impatient!!

I too, am on that ship. I waited at Port since October 30th. I can't wait. This is my first BMW.

Yeah, I called my CA today, car is STILL at the port. I missed yesterday's boat. Looks like next east coast boat departs on the 19th. So that would make it 18 days since end of production to get loaded on the boat...crazy...

It probably took a few days from the factory to the port. Still seems excesive.

What part of Illinois? I too am from Illinois. My CA, that is also the Sales Manager, pulled up my info several days before getting on the Frisia: also pulled others that he was expecting (3) Cars that were ordered. It appears BMW let mine sit from October 30th, until all three that he was expecting arrived. I could have caught an earlier ship. I jokingly told him that I should receive a discount on delivery $775.00 Destination cost, since there are three of us all coming in at the same time paying this cost and I had to wait for the other two.

This is my first BMW, how about you.

miles99 - i live in Schaumburg; this is my 2nd BMW (although my 1st in the US). I had a 530i back in 1994/5, with a lot of reliability issues that made me switch back to Japanese car. Nothing compares to it, so I'm giving it another chance now...

Looks like Frisia is delayed by one day (11/23 now)...probably due to the Thanksgiving.

Has your CA told you when you would probably take delivery? I'm in the Northwest tip of Illinois, actually bought from an Iowa Dealer. I'm in Rural Country; not to many BMW's up this way. We moved from the Northwest Suburbs (Lake in The Hills) 13 years ago.

Can't wait to drive her on these windy country roads...

He said it would be sometime late November... but I won't be surprised if I end up taking delivery in early December. The winter wheels arrived yesterday, so I guess I'm ready.

BTW I love that part of Illinois - Galena & vicinity. The rolling hills, the winding roads - perfect for a BMW.

I was just wondering, as I knew you were on the same ship as me: Have you heard from your dealer? Do you have an ETA? The 800 # since Friday has been saying mine is back at port awaiting a vessel


Called my dealer Monday and he said it was in Transport to VPC. Today online the Owner's Circle Web Site says at VPC and the 800# number still says I'm awaiting a vessel.

I hear the same thing from the 800#. My CA said it would be ready by tomorrow or Saturday... crossing my fingers.

OK, the wait is finally over!! I took delivery of my 335i sedan last Saturday (12/1). It wasn't really a smooth sailing, and here's why: there was a piece of torn paper INSIDE the left headlight housing (looks like a torn piece of spare part label left in there during assembly) I discovered during the final inspection. Nothing serious but it was annoying, so I asked the dealer to take care of it. Long story short, it wasn't ready until around 3PM, and by then there was about 2 inches of nasty wintry mix on the road. Luckily I had purchased a set of winter rims+tires the week before, so I brought them over to the dealership and had them installed.

I haven't got a chance to play around with all features nor driven it that much, yesterday's weather was terrible. In any case, very good first impression despite a very short drive home from the dealership.
