I tried this tune today and for some reason it capped my boost at 9psi when hot and 3psi when the car was cold no matter what map I selected,
Car felt very slow and stock like

I downgraded back to 28.5b and the car went back up to previous boost levels (17/18 with back end flash) and previous higher power

What gives? Did I miss a setting?

Had the same issue on a buddies car. Was told by Jon@BMS to set all DUTY BIAS in the interface to 0 or 50. After that, car runs like a top.

What does DUTY BIAS actually do at 0 vs 50?

With a JB you need a flash though. Without the JB you just need a flash.

I never understood why anyone would use this map switching to simply lower boost. If you have the octane why not have all the power there all the time and just use your foot to modulate and not go WOT when you don't want to. At least for me if I go WOT I want my full tuning power to be there.

Be sure to read the directions posted with the firmware.

I honestly don't know, but it worked. Car had datalogs that looked like a roller coaster, and had limp modes.

I think the N54 platform is going to go down as one of the best and most tuner friendly engines ever made. In reality for a couple thousand bux you are in crazy HP/TQ territory.

THANK YOU!!

Car runs like a champ now

All issues (for now lol) gone

I don't have Meth so I put the values of Meth Safety mode and Meth trigger mode to 3,

don't know if that makes a difference but the car feels great

I just routed my cable through the firewall and borrowed a windows laptop and upgraded to 28. Did the 0 values (does it matter vs 50?)...running E40, so is map 5 still the best option for me?

Yes. Map 5 is fine. You can get some datalogs to confirm everything looks healthy if you want.

impressive and exactly what i think a tune+dci car should put out with given mods.

tune e85 should net 400+ given the tune is aggressive enough.

Just a note.

***DO NOT UPLOAD FIRMWARE UNTIL YOU READ THIS *** ISO 28.7 and later REQUIRES JB4 INTERFACE 3/1/15 AND SETTING CHANGES. All Duty Bias (formerly CPS) must be set to 0 or 50 to avoid 30FF under boost codes. 3rd gear boost limiting should also be set to 0 to disable. See reference below for default settings. ***
